The Immaterial Economy – the Newest Form of Capitalism (Immateriaalitalous – kapitalismin uusin muoto) was published by the Left Forum in 2009. It is written by Otto Bruun, Teppo Eskelinen, Ilkka Kauppinen and Hanna Kuusela. The publishing house is Gaudeamus. The Immaterial Economy – the Newest Form of Capitalism is the report of the second research project conducted by the Left Forum. The book tries to find a left-wing perspective to the immaterialization of the economy.
Central themes in the book are classes, the expansion of capitalism to other spheres of life, cultural criticism and influences of monopoly capitalism on property structures. The aim of the research has not only been to produce an analysis of equality in the era of immaterial production, but also to try to find a way out of persisting state.
